Clarinet - Grenadilla Wood
Clarinet - Grenadilla Wood
Cutting edge, with a respect for tradition, is vocabulary that can describe the Tempest Bb Clarinet. Start from our complete use of the highest quality African Grenadilla wood. The remarkable warmth of tone and carrying power are the reasons for using Grenadilla. The Tempest Grenadilla wood has the most faithful sound qualities to go along with its secure acoustic design. As you can see from the pictures, this clarinet has no rings at the tenons. Or does it? Actually it does, but the rings are internal and are designed not to interfere with the resonance of the instrument. The fact that it's a wood clarinet alone at this price sets it apart from competitive brands. I can assure you its stride for stride with the great French clarinets like Buffet, LeBlanc and Selmer, easily meeting and surpassing them in quality, fit & finish, and, most strikingly, tone. And did I mention the keys are Solid Sterling Silver? Try and find this on an E-11, or an R-13 for that matter! The rich chalumeau register is dark and focused, the throat tones are open, and the clarion register is as soft and controlled or piercing as you need for the situation. The tone holes are undercut and lined as well. The Tempest Clarinet also has Italian Double fish skin pads. The Tempest Clarinet comes with an industry first 5-year warranty. It comes in a beautiful French style case, has both a 65mm and 66mm barrel included, mouthpiece, ligature, cap, cork grease and cleaning swab.

I bought the Tempest Bb Clarinet the other day. I was looking for a top line Bb Grenadilla wood clarinet and my teacher recommended this one. I
compared it to the Yamaha the store was trying to sell me, this played the throat tones perfectly, and the high register was terrific.

I’m a band director and only recommend wood clarinets. These Tempest wood clarinets will beat any E-11, Yamaha or Selmer clarinet out there. In
addition, they have a 5-year warranty – this is one great find.
